Mary Lester Thomas Boone

Mrs. Mary Lester Thomas Boone, age 82 of Winston-Salem, widow of Mr. J. W. Boone, Sr., passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 at Homestead Hills Nursing Center. Mrs. Boone was born in Mississippi, September 18, 1924 to Lester Bedell and Mary Jane Richey Thomas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Sammy Boone of Winston-Salem; Steve and Marian Boone of Mt. Airy; Tom and Katie Boone of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Esterling; a brother, Robert Thomas both of Mississippi and two very special friends, Steve and Brenda Welborn of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Boone made many wonderful friends in life and had requested that no formal funeral service be held in her behalf so that she might be remembered as she lived. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Ln., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
