Mary Jane Bowman Brady

Mrs. Mary Jane Bowman Brady, 74, of 773 Brady Pike, Hillsville, VA, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010, at The Griiffeth Family Hospice Suite at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. She was born March 30, 1935, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Daniel and Sarah Melton Bowman. She was a homemaker and a member of Bluemont Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debby Goad of Hillsville, VA, Donna and Tom Peery of Laurel Fork, VA, and Delilah and Donald Ayers of Cana, VA; four grandchildren, Kayla Peery and Lauren Peery, both of Laurel Fork VA, and Bowman Ayers and Brady Ayers, both of Cana, VA; a step-granddaughter, Jenny Raley of Bluefield, VA; two step-great-grandchildren, Mason Raley and Myles Raley, both of Bluefield, VA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mallie and Jim Tuggle of Martinsville, VA, and Ileta Billings of Galax, VA; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jessie Bowman of Lynchburg, VA, Lloyd Bowman and Luster and Gloria Bowman, all of Laurel Fork, VA, and Andrew and Pauline Bowman of Hillsville, VA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue Bowman of Spencer, VA, Margaret Brady of Atlanta, GA, Lucille Brady of Fancy Gap, VA, and Howard and Virginia Brady and Verlyn Brady, all of Hillsville, VA; an aunt and uncle, Lila and Julius Branscome of Woodbridge, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brady was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Donald Brady; a sister, Inez Bowman; and two brothers, James Bowman and Lewis Bowman. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Bluemont Presbyterian Churh, with the Rev. Stewart Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
