Mrs. Mary Stella Branch Coble, 86, of 6007 Devoncourt Place, Jamestown, passed away Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009, at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Mrs. Coble was born March 5, 1923, in Surry County, to the late Fletcher and Nannie Atkinson Branch. She was a homemaker and a member of Blues Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Kermit J. Coble of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Kesler of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Kermit J. Coble, Jr. and Janice Coble of Jamestown; five grandchildren and two spouses, Michael and Bessie Gaither and Steven Gaither, all of Lexington, Tanya Baka of Linwood, Kermit J. Coble, III and Stephanie Coble of Hamstead, MD, and Christy Brown of Charlotte; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gladys Collins of Dobson and Imogene and Clarence Swaim of Randleman; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Donese Branch of Dobson, Claude Branch and Merle Branch both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coble was preceded in death by a sister, Maude Brindle; and a brother, Glenn Branch. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sammy Lawson and the Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service.
