Mary Frances Gwyn Cooke

Mrs. Mary Frances Gwyn Cooke age 89 of 198 Fairview Dr. Mt. Airy widow of the late Herbert Van Cooke passed away Monday night April 30, 2007 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Cooke was born in Surry County August 3, 1917 to the late Charles Gwyn Sr. and Mary Ester Simmons Gwyn, she was a homemaker and member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law Rodney and Natalie Cooke of Mt. Airy, Gwyn and Kay Cooke of Greensboro and Wayne and Mary Emily Cooke of Mt. Airy, five grandchildren one great grandchild, and a sister Callie Lathian of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by four brothers and 1 sister. Graveside services will be held Thursday May 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM. at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Rusty Reed. The family will receive friends one hour and a half before the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a special thank you the staff at Twelve Oaks Rest Home and Alzheimer's and her special friend and caregiver April Poole. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 396 Holly Springs Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030.
