Mrs. Mary Grace Doby Culler, 76, of 147 New Home Church Road, Dobson, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Culler was born May 16, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Charles Edgar and Mary Etta Badgett Doby. Mrs. Culler was a longtime member of Dobson United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir for many years. She also was the longtime organist for the Copeland Lodge #22 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Porter "Floyd" Culler of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Pamela Culler of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Chris Culler and his wife, Joy, of Jonesville, Lori Clodfelter and her husband, Rusty, of High Point, and Justin Culler and Todd Blevins, both of Richmond, VA; two great-grandchildren, Ian Culler of Jonesville and Madison Clodfelter of High Point; three great-stepgrandchildren, Russ Clodfelter and Jeremy Clodfelter, both of High Point, and Nevin Hunter of East Bend; her mother-in-law, Caroline S. Culler of Ararat, VA; two sisters, Jessie D. Matthews of East Bend and Edna D. Corder of Mount Airy; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Jack and Freeda Doby and Bertie Doby, all of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Culler was preceded in death by a sister, Josie D. Atkins; and three brothers, Curvie Doby, Alonza Edgar Doby, and George Doby. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Kathy Earley, minister of Dobson United Methodist Church, and interment will follow in the New Home Church of Christ Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star Copeland Lodge #22. The Culler family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic and Eastern Star Home, 700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
