Mary Isabelle Gardner Dixon

Mrs. Mary Isabelle Gardner Dixon age 76 of 155 Cherokee Trail, Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Verlon Dixon passed away Thursday April 17, 2008 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Judy Deatherage. She was born April 26, 1931 in Floyd County, VA to the late Harley and Hattie Sutphin Gardner. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Doug Deatherage, Mt. Airy, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Dixon, Mt. Airy, James and Sharon Dixon, Archdale, and Randy Dixon, High Point, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by two sons, Danny and Mikle Dixon, three brothers, Laten, Giles and Lewis Gardner and a sister, Justeen Sechrist. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, April 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Junior Dixon, Jr. and Rev. David Joyce. Burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 PM Saturday night at Moody Funeral Home.
