Mary Ann Doss

Mrs. Mary Ann Doss age 79 of 251 Airview Drive, Mount Airy, wife of Roger Lee Doss passed away Monday night at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 23, 1929 in Surry County to the late Roy Nichols and Jeannie Cook Nichols. She was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church and was retired as a Nursing Assistant at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ronnie Clifton, Lowgap and Marcie and Dwayne Hiatt, Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debra Doss, Mount Airy; seven grandchildren and spouses, Neil Doss and spouse, Christie, Greensboro, Melissa Simmons and spouse, Colt, Mount Airy, Wesley Clifton, Lowgap, Lee Clifton and spouse, Sheena, Lowgap, Todd Hiatt and spouse, Nicki, Raleigh, Chad Hiatt, Mount Airy and Anna Hiatt, Mount Airy; a sister, Alma Vernon, Mount Airy and a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Georgia Nichols, Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doss was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Badgett and four brothers, Vance Nichols, Chester Nichols, Bill Nichols and Gordon Nichols. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Elmo Hiatt and Rev. Jonathan Doss. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
