Mary McMillian Eanes

Mrs. Mary McMillian Eanes, 91, of 2019 Caudle Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Eanes was born June 9, 1919, in Surry County, to the late James Anderson and Lottie McCreary McMillian. She retired from Ballston Knitting as the office manager and was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving are two grandsons, James B. Gordon and Matthew Gordon, both of Pinnacle; a sister, Rebecca F. McMillan of Mount Airy; two sisters-in-law, Naomi McMillian and Mary Tilley, both of Mount Airy; a special niece, Frances Villari of Mount Airy; and four nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eanes was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Gordon; two sisters, Evelyn McMillan and Virginia McNeil; three brothers, Frank McMillan, Woodrow McMillan, and Wayne McMillan; and a nephew, Dennis McMillian. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 18, 2010, at 11:00 AM at King Memorial Park in King, with the Rev. Chris McMillian officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Central Continuing Care for the love and care given to Mary while she was in their care. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Activity Fund at Central Continuing Care, 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
