Mary Lou Wright Golding

Mrs. Mary Lou Wright Golding, 94 of Lowgap, passed away Thursday September 1, 2011 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Golding was born in Surry County on December 20, 1916 to the late Willie and Ada Hill Wright. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Melba Puckett and Dianne and P.D. Hull all of Lowgap; Linda and Grant Parrish of Winston Salem, Sylvia Nobles of New Bern; daughter-in-law, Katie Golding of Woodlawn, VA; son-in-law, Glen Hawks of Lambsburg, VA; eleven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; seven step-great great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Gray Lawrence of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Delano Wright of California and Carolyn Wright of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents Mrs. Golding was preceded in death by her husband, Cosby Edmond Golding; a daughter, Brenda Hawks; two sons and daughter-in-law, William Thomas and wife Theresa Golding and C.E. Golding, Jr.; a grandson, Rodney Hawks; two sons-in-law, Jake Puckett and Jerry Nobles; two sisters, Lena Jarrell and Alene Newman; two brothers, Jack Wright and William "Bill" Wright. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
