Mary Arlene Clifton Griffith

Mrs. Mary Arlene Clifton Griffith age 80 of 5754 Westfield Road, Westfield, NC widow of Mr. Ralph Griffith passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born March 12, 1927 in Surry County to the late Robert Brady and Carrie Nevada Flippin Clifton. She was a former member of the Westfield Fire Department Auxillary, was a member of the Westfield Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are a daughter, Karrie Raye Griffith of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Rodger and Denise Griffith, Advance, NC, five grandchildren, Summer Nicole Griffith, and Tanner Avery Griffith both of the home, Amber Irene Rogers, and Lucas Clifton Griffith both of Advance, NC and Dustin Corey Griffith, Mt. Airy, NC, a sister, Myrtle Belle Hodges, Mt. Airy, NC, a brother and two sisters-in-law, John and Dot Clifton, Lowgap, NC, Lou Clifton, Mt. Airy, NC, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Herman Clifton... Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Joel Stevens with burial to follow in Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery . The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Saturday night at Moody Funeral Home where her body will remain until the hour of the funeral service.
