Mary Juanita Reeves Johnson

Mrs. Mary Juanita Reeves Johnson, 82, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Johnson was born March 15, 1927, in Surry County, to the late Otto K. and Nettie Shelton Reeves. She retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Alma Danley of Ararat and Martha Wilson of Greer SC; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Johnny and Mary Sue Johnson of Dobson, George and Betty Jo Johnson of Mount Airy, and Mae Johnson of Dobson; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann and Avery Watson of Elkin, and Minnie and James Loflen and Ruth Draughn, all of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Catherine Reeves of Springfield, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Milton Johnson; a son, Jimmy Johnson; a granddaughter, Angela Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Megan Johnson and Cory Danley; three sisters, Levie Reeves, Nellie Reeves, and Nancy Saferight; and three brothers, Pete Reeves, Johnny Reeves, and Harry Reeves. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 3, 2009, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Trent Lyons, the Rev. Ted Crotts, and the Rev. Frank Danley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 955, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Alleghany Health Care and Rehabilitation in Sparta and to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem for the care and support shown to Juanita during her illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Johnson family.
