Mary Lou Jones

Mrs. Mary Lou Jones, age 99, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2019 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.  She was born March 22, 1920 to the late Robert Walter and Bertha Hawks Payne.  She was a retired CNA from Northern Hospital of Surry County and was of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Gray Draughn; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Rita Jones; grandchildren, Jill Barlow and husband George, Kelly Wise and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Gracen Wise, Cate Wise, Ben Wise, Jack Tucker and Charlotte Tucker; sister, Linda Fobert.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband James “Buck” Jones; son James Dorsey Jones, as well as several brothers and sisters.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with services conducted by Rev. David Long.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 12:30 until time to leave for the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that donation may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy NC , 27030
