Mary Lou Jones

Mrs. Mary Lou Jones, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Jones was born December 14, 1925, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Christopher Columbus "Little Ed" and Etta Francis Hawks Jones. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Posey Clayton and Kathy Jones of Cana, VA; two granddaughters and a spouse, Amy Jones of Greenville and Amanda and John Patton of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Ona and Jimmy Sechrist of Cana, VA; and special nephews, Jim Sechrist and Freddie Sechrist, both of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Posey Jackson Jones; a sister; and three brothers. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. C.L. Crotts and the Rev. David "Buster" Sechrist, and burial will follow in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, and other times at the home of her sister, Ona Sechrist, 15258 Fancy Gap Highway, Cana, VA.
