Mrs. Jones was born November 13, 1932, in Henry County, VA, to Elder Robert Lee and Mary Alice Holt Rodgers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband, Buster W. Jones; and her sister, Lelia Rodgers Fulk. Mrs. Jones is survived by three children, a daughter, Diane Jones Davidson and husband Richard of Holden Beach, a son, Weldon Lee Jones and wife Barbara of Mount Airy, and a son, Phillip W. Jones and wife Patricia of Cana, VA; nine grandchildren, Paul Davidson and wife Meghan, Brian Davidson and wife Liz, Jesse Jones and wife Jessee, Jennifer Jones Pike and husband Jason, Ashley Jones Edwards and husband Adam, Laura Leigh Jones Robertson and husband Tyler, Caitlin Jones Worrell and husband Stafford, Mary Alden Jones, Will Jones and wife Kristin; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Dewey Rodgers, Ray Rodgers, and Melvin Rodgers and wife Janice. Along with her husband, Mrs. Jones was active in their family business, Buster Jones Produce of Cana. In addition to being instrumental and hands-on in the family business, Mrs. Jones was widely respected as a leader in her community. In earlier years, she would often help as a substitute teacher and served as president of the PTA at St. Paul School. She later focused her energies in being an instructive mother and grandmother. In her senior years, she enjoyed going to the gym, staying abreast of current events, reading, and keeping up with her large and growing family. She constantly expressed thanks at being able to live in her home of 66 years. Mrs. Jones will be remembered as a strong woman, full of good advice, and a positive influence. Mrs. Jones was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Cana. There will be a graveside service at Skyline Memory Gardens on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend David Sechrist officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home; however, friends are welcome to pay their respects at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 7:00 until 11:00 AM.
