Mary Lawrence

Mrs. Mary Lee Haynes Lawrence, 77 of Cana, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Hillsville Heath and Rehab Center in Hillsville, Virginia.  Mrs. Lawrence was born on May 21, 1944, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late Henry and Mae Belle Boyd Haynes.  Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are daughter, Tammy Lawrence Brindle; her son, Steve N. Lawrence, Jr.; four grandchildren, Mitchell “Randy” Robertson, Jr., Stephanie Robertson, Tiffany Robertson, Meghan Lawrence Snow and Justin; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Nelson Lawrence, Sr.; two sisters, Barbara Haynes, Peggy Haynes Freeman; one brother, Dale Haynes.  A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Hillsville Health and Rehab Center, for the care of Mrs. Lawrence during her illness.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
