Mary Joe Ann Leftwich

Mrs. Mary Joe Ann Shelton Leftwich, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on June 25, 1938 to the late, Leonard and Lucy Hiatt Shelton.  Mrs. Leftwich retired from Renfro, and a member of First Church of the Brethren.  She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Tammy Leftwich, Joy Tolbert and Reed; a son, Walter Leftwich, III; grandchildren, Cassie Leftwich, Cody Leftwich, Chris Tolbert; a great grandchild, Jagger Leftwich; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Faye Shelton Smith and Joseph; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leftwich was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Dean Shelton, and Aaron Lee Shelton.  A graveside service will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Garden with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the fourth floor staff of Northern Regional Hospital for the care given to Mary Joe Ann.  Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
