Mary Louise Shouse Leupold

Mrs. Mary Louise Shouse Leupold, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Leupold was born August 13, 1934, in Burke County, to Royal W. and Iris Hipps Shouse. She was a retired certified nursing assistant. Mrs. Leupold is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Elaine Gibson of Mount Airy and Lina and Damon Smith of Winston-Salem; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Erik and Kellie Leupold of Mount Airy and Oscar Andrew Leupold of Winston-Salem; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Griffin, Heather Leupold, Brandon Leupold, Anita Rachel, Louis Gibson, Jessie Gibson, Savannah Smith, Stetson Smith, Sawyer Smith, Amanda Bohland, Evan Leupold, and Jarred Bowman; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leupold was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Leupold; and a brother, John Wilford Shouse. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 27, 2010, at 3:00 PM at New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church, 9145 NC Highway 268, Elkin. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Doug Shuff. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
