Mary Louise Lovey Kirk

Mary Louise Lovey Kirk, 72, of Cana, passed away at her home on Tuesday night, June 13, 2022.  She was born September 30, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late George Lovey and the late Rose Marie Kirstien.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.  Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Carletta (Robert) VanMeter, Charleta Haupt, Ruby (Ronnie) Hawks, Harold (Joni) West, and Terry (William) Counterman; ten grandchildren, Alisha Greitz, Robert VanMeter, Jessica Counterman, William Counterman, James Wood, William Wood, Maggie Davis, Letha Davis, Alexis Medley, and Ellie Medley; two great-grandchildren, Noah Romo, and Tee’na Vincent-Brooks; five siblings, Dorothy Lemmy, Rose Tenney, Georgett Lovey, Edith Aldridge, and George Lovey, Jr.; by several nieces and nephews; and by her ex-husband and longtime friend, Perry Kirk.  A service of worship and celebration will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 2:00PM at New Bethel Baptist Church, 2826 Pipers Gap Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030 with the Rev. Jimmy McCraw officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Kirk family.
