Mary Gwynn Lowe

Mrs. Mary Gwynn Lowe, 67, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Lowe was born July 17, 1943, in Carroll County, VA, daughter of the late Frank Caleb and Rebecca Jane Thomas Gwynn. She retired from Sara Lee Corporation and was a member of Bear Trail Baptist Church. Mrs. Lowe is survived by a daughter and her fiancée, Velna Rebecca Lowe Hernandez and Wayne Morris of Cana, VA; a son and his fiancé, Thomas Lowe and Pamela Smith of Westfield; and three grandchildren, Corey Lowe, Maria Hernandez, and Juan Hernandez. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Thomas Lowe; and a brother, Dewey Jackson Gwynn. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Timmy Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Trail Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
