Mary Ruth Hiatt Lowe

Mrs. Mary Ruth Hiatt Lowe, age 67 of Cana, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Lowe was born in Surry County, February 13, 1940 to Simon Lee and Mary Evelyn Harrell Hiatt. She was retired from Renfro Corp. and was a member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Franklin Edward Lowe, I, of the home; three daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Tony Mayes of Dobson; Susan Lowe of the home; Rebecca Lowe of Danville, VA; a son, Franklin Edward Lowe, II of Mt. Airy; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Estelle and Bill Avara of Mt. Airy; Jo Ann and Robert Foley; Elizabeth Leonard of Cana; Catherine and Julius Easter of Ararat, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Simon and Deborah Hiatt of King; Earl and Angie Hiatt of Mooresville; and Charles and Sharon Hiatt of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Flat Ridge Baptist Church, where she will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and Rev. Todd Byrd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
