Mary Louise Stewart Marsh

Mrs. Mary Louise Stewart Marsh, 77, of Ararat, NC, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Marsh was born May 7, 1934, in Surry County, to the late Harvey P. and Minnie Creed Stewart. She graduated from Copeland High School, where she was an All-State Basketball Player. Mrs. Marsh retired from Perry Manufacturing and was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles W. Marsh of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Marsh of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Stewart Marsh; and a sister, Thelma Oakes of Greensboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude N. Stewart and James Vance Stewart. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Billy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
