Mary Peggy (Bondurant) Mathis

Mrs. Mary “Peggy” Bondurant Mathis, age 82 of Rural Hall passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.  Mrs. Mathis was born on April 10, 1940, in Stokes County, North Carolina to the late Dewey Glenn and Mary Lou Chaney Bondurant.  Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Donald Gray Mathis; two daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Smith and husband Mark, Stephanie Hooker and Fiancé Kevin Flippin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny Hooker and Susie, Doug Hooker and Paula; three stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Robin Conner, Vicki Nicholson and Jimmy, Tracie Montgomery and Mickey; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Michael Mathis and Amy; seven grandchildren, Heather Smith, Ryan Hooker and Christy, Dusty Smith, Brice Hooker and Tiffany, Justice McBride, Lucas McBride, Shaylee Montgomery, seven great-grandchildren, Kole, Craeton, Sloane, Jayden, Addison, Remi, Renee; two sisters, Jane Clark, Susan Bondurant; one brother and sister-in-law, Bud Bondurant and Wanda; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bobby Clark.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Garden with Rev. Eddie Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements
