Mary Lou McCraw

Mary Lou McCraw, age 70, of Lambsburg, VA passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born November 27th, 1950, in Surry County NC to the late Henry B McCraw and Vera E McCraw. Mary is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Wright Upchurch (Brad) and Colleen Puckett; son, Charlie Puckett (Deborah); sisters, Lois Lawson (Billy) and Pam Reid (Tim); brother John McCraw Sr., many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Callie Puckett Smith. Our dear Mary will be remembered for her laughter and her beautiful smile. She loved her family and friends. That was especially true for the children. She always made the little ones feel special and loved. Our memories of her will be happy ones; the reunions, the parties, the quiet visits where we found joy in just being together. Where there was Mary, there was laughter and love. Mary loves Jesus. We find comfort in knowing that she is now with him and her beloved Callie, Ma, & Pa in Heaven and we know they are watching from above with love. Within our hearts, her lovely smile shines bright, and she will remain there forever until we meet again. Now, Mary will always be our Angel. You earned your wings dear sister; dear mama; dear granny. Fly! A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the McCraw Family Cemetery in Cana with services conducted by Rev. Wes Mosteller. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
