Mary Catherine Wise McDowell

Mrs. Mary Catherine Wise McDowell, 89, of Dobson, formerly of New Bern, passed away Saturday June 11, 2016, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. She was born in Washington, DC, on March 17, 1927, to the late Russell Ulysses Wise and Mary Luberta Lanham Wise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McDowell; two sons, Russell Thomas McDowell and Robert Earl McDowell; and a sister. She attended St. Paul Catholic Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Greg Mayor of Dobson; her grandchildren, Shawn and Nikki Deane and Kevin and Trisha Deane; and four great-grandchildren, Jamie, Morgan, William, Kailyn. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with Rev. Jeff Wall officiaitng. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in New Bern at St. Paul Catholic Church Cemetery 11AM Thursday. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the McDowell family locally.
