Mary Frances Gentry Morris

Mrs. Mary Frances Gentry Morris, 76, of 443 Speas Mill Road, Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Morris was born June 12, 1934, in Wilkes County, daughter of the late Luther Carl and Flora Florence Cox Gentry. Mary Frances worked in the textile industry for many years. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Wayne and Belinda Taylor of Spartanburg, SC, and Donnie Lee Taylor of the home; two stepgrandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and James Combs of North Wilkesboro and Susan and Bill Lyons of Jonesville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Faye Gentry and Raymond and Susan Gentry, all of Elkin, and Archie and Almedia Gentry of Hays; several nieces and nephews; and two special pets, Pepper and Daisy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Winton Morris; and a brother, Charles Gentry. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Morris Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA, with Bishop David P. Hiatt officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
