Mary Lou Mundy

Mrs. Mary Lou Bowman Mundy, age 84, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Monday morning, September 13, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born on September 26, 1936, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late John Ray and Goldie Bolt Bowman. Mrs. Mundy had worked as a secretary for Pike Electric, Spencer’s, and Ararat Rock Company before retiring. She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are children, Eddie Mundy and wife Regina, Jimmy Mundy and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Austin Mundy and his wife Sydney and Taylor Mundy; Erica Parrish and husband Chris Parrish, and great Granddaughter Emma Parrish; sisters, Verna Wagoner, Evelyn Wright and her husband Rayburn; sister-in-law, Colene Jones; brother-in-law, Norris "Bo" Mundy and wife Donna. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mundy was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Elmo Mundy; brother, Ivan Bowman. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin. For those wishing to pay their respects you may do so between the hours of 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
