Mary Etta Bowman Nichols

Mrs. Mary Etta Bowman Nichols, 70, of 1029 Wesley Cox Road, Pilot Mountain, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Nichols was born January 1, 1939, in Surry County, daughter of the late James Tyrie and Maggie Mae Felts Bowman. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving are her husband to whom she was married to "forever", Charlie Albert Nichols of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sonya and Ben May of Tulsa, OK, Penny and Rodney Booze of Pilot Mountain, and Melanie and Darren Kiser of Tobaccoville; sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie "Al" and Ann Nichols of Sandy Ridge and Mike and Carolyn Nichols of Matthews; grandchildren, Jennifer Neal and husband, Asa, Pamela Nichols, Amber Nichols, Aaron Booze, Daniel Booze, Aidan Kiser, Liam Kiser, and Caleb Kiser; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene Collins of Mount Airy, Betty Combs of King, and Pansy and Arthur Chaney of Westfield; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Brenda Bowman of Mount Airy, Everette and Cindy Bowman of Winston-Salem, Lyrine Bowman of Mount Airy, and Dennis "Chipper" and Robbie Bowman of Rural Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by a brother, James Bowman; a sister-in-law, Connie Bowman; and two brothers-in-law, Herbert Collins and Charles Combs. A memorial service to honor her life will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 3:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Charles Penley. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brenner's Children Hospital Development Office, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021, in memory of Mary Etta Nichols.
