Mary Ethel Nixon

Mrs. Mary Ethel Nixon, age 90 of Mt. Airy passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County Sunday, August 5, 2007. Mrs. Nixon was born in Patrick County VA March 30, 1917 to the late William Emmett and Hucie Amelia Pace Hall. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Joseph Glenn Nixon of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Nixon and Glenda and Donald Weddle all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Jeff and Debbie Nixon of Pilot Mtn, Sheri George of Westfield, Tim and Judy Weddle of Mt. Airy, Lee Ann Nixon of Mt. Airy, Dallas Weddle of Dallas, NC; great grandchildren, Sarah and Rebecca George and Tyler and Noah Weddle and Landon Holmes. Special friends, Gene and Maggie Lewellyn of Greensboro and Pat and Glenn Boyd of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Highland Park Baptist Church by Dr. David Brady. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service at Highland Park Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 1327 Grove Lane, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
