Mary Lee Edwards Parks

Mrs. Mary Lee Edwards Parks, 76, widow of Robert Lee Parks, of Lambsburg, Va., passed away Sunday August 13, 2006 at Wake Forest University Medical Center. She was born in Carroll County VA., on April 6, 1930 to the late John Gilbert, Sr. and Maude Jane Golding Edwards. Mrs. Parks was retired from American Tobacco Company and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Rose Mary and James Robert "Bobby" Nester of Manquin, Va.; three grandsons and spouse James Robert "Robbie" and Shelly Nester of Aylett, Va., Robert Lee Nester of Mechanicsville, VA and James Randall "Randy" Nester of Manquin, VA.; a sister June Hawks of Mt. Airy, NC; three brothers and two sisters-in-law Junior and Jama Lee Edwards of Galax, VA, Frank Edwards of Lambsburg, Va. and Raymond and Kathy Edwards of Mt. Airy, NC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nadine Ardell Parks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday August 17, 2006 in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy with Rev. Jimmy McCraw officiating and burial to follow in the Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
