Mary Jane Pike

Miss Mary Jane Pike, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Mount Airy.  Miss Pike was born May 11, 1940, in Surry County, to the late James William and Nellie Mitchell Pike.  She was in ministry for 43 years doing the work of Christ.  She is survived by a brother and two sisters-in-law, James William “Bill” Pike, Jr. and Betty Pike and Glenda Thomas Pike; her nieces, Sandy Atkins and her husband, Dennis, Dianne Barbour, Barbara Riley, and Debbie Ladd; a nephew, Mark Pike; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her parents, Miss Pike was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Edward Pike.  The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Tom Nussbaum, Leslie Pulley, Waverly Pierson, and Jennifer Grady officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
