Mary Ruth Potts Simpson

Mrs. Mary Ruth Potts Simpson age 76 of Mt. Airy, NC. widow of Mr. Delmar Junior Simpson passed away Sunday night at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Simpson was born October 14, 1931 in Surry County to the late Will and Nancy Edwards Potts she was retired from National-Mt. Airy Furniture Co., she was a homemaker and was a member of Glory Light Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Mike Nichols of Matthews and Nancy and Gerald Carter of Winston Salem, one son and daughter-in-law Phillip and Bonnie Simpson of Mt. Airy, four grandchildren Stephanie Simpson, P.J. Simpson and Ben Simpson all of Mt. Airy and Amber Nichols Santa Fe, New Mexico, one sister Lula Smith of Mt. Airy, one brother Roy Potts of Mt. Airy and several devoted sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 17, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at the Glory Light Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Ted Crotts, Rev. Keith Jones and Rev. Terry Lawson with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 7 to 9 PM. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
