Mary Magdlene Simpson

Mrs. Mary Magdlene “Maggie” Bowman Simpson, age 73, of Kernersville, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  Mrs. Simpson was born in Patrick County on November 30, 1945, to Alexander and Linnes Puckett Bowman.  She was truly a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear sister whose memories will be forever cherished.  Surviving are daughters, Dianne Simpson, and Donna Sharpe; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Kim Childress; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Cordell and Faye Bowman, Opal Bowman, and Mary Bowman; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Stone Simpson; and three brothers, Conduff, Calvin and John Henry Bowman.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Homer Bowman and Rev. Terry Vaughn.  Burial will follow in Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 12:30.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 903 Doe Run Rd. Ararat, VA 24053.
