Mary Elizabeth Beck Smith

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Beck Smith, 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Carroll County on November 4, 1945 to the late Robert Lee and Melita Jane Shinault Beck. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Kenneth Donathan, and Karen Woods; grandchildren, Ashley Donathan, Margaret Donathan, Permelia Donathan, Cody Donathan, Johnathan Woods; a step-grandson, Kenneth Donathan; sisters and brothers, Ruth Jones, Betty Bryant, Helen Nichols, Eunice Ward, James Beck and wife Pauline; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Wayne Smith; a brother, R.L. Beck; a sister, Jane Trent; grandparents, Jake and Irene Shinault, Auther and Ellen Beck; a great great nephew, Noah Ellis. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.
