Mrs. Mary Lou Thomas Terry, 76, of Pinnacle, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Terry was born August 1, 1944, in Surry County, the daughter of the late William Carl and Ada McCraw Thomas. Mary Lou owned and operated Mary’s Home Daycare for many years. She is survived by her husband, Burton Eugene Terry of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Donald McDaniel of Pinnacle; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna Hall of Mount Airy and Barry Hall of Winston-Salem; three stepdaughters, Joan Hutchens of East Bend, Gaynelle Hill of King, and Priscilla Wolfe of Yadkinville; a stepson-in-law, Jesse Lee Taylor of East Bend; two grandchildren, Brittany McDaniel and Kimberly McDaniel White and her husband, Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Adaleigh Potts and Kealan White; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanette and Roger Montgomery of Mount Airy and Sissie Poindexter of Siloam; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her first husband, Lacky Creed Hall; a stepdaughter, Bobbie Taylor; two sisters, Joann Sisk and Betty Wright; and five brothers, Ray Thomas, Roy Thomas, E.C. Thomas, Buster Thomas, and Junior Thomas. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Randall Smith and the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
