Mary Angeleen Turney

Mrs. Mary Angeleen Bowman Turney, age 73, of Ararat, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at her home.  Mrs. Turney was born on May 18, 1945, to Willis Monroe and Mary Etheleen Bowman.  She attended Friendly Chapel Church as long as her health permitted.  She worked at Balston Mills and Asmo in Mt. Airy, and her latest employment was a CNA with Comfort Care, which she enjoyed very much.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dempsey Bond, and her second husband, Moir Turney.  Surviving are sons and a daughter-in-law, Shane and Amanda Bond, and Yancy Bond; grandsons, Brandon and Nathan Bond; a sister and brother-in-law, Gaynell and Johnny Lewis; and a special niece, Kim Lewis who helped with her doctors and hospital visits.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Pardue and Bro. Roger Miller.  Burial will follow in Bowman Family Cemetery in Ararat.  The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.  At the request of Mrs. Turney, the family will not be gathering at anyone’s home and request that no food be brought.  The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 4th floor, ICU, and the 3rd floor Cardiac Rehab at Northern Hospital for the excellent care given to Mrs. Turney, and also to Hospice Home Care who lovingly gave her support and care during her journey to her Heavenly Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial are requested to be made to Moody's for funeral expenses.
