Mary Flora White

Mrs. Mary “Flora” White, age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation. She was born March 31, 1932 to the late Jim and Lula Bell Holt Hemmings.  Mrs. White had worked as a driver for the Salvation Army and was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Luann Boyer; son, Jonathan White; grandchildren, Joshua White, Raina White, Eli White, Daisy White, Cayla Williams and husband Clayton, Madison Boyer; sister Kathleen Tickle; brother, James Holt as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Andy William White. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Ken Young and Major Mike Rodgers. Burial will follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
