Mary Ellen Willis

Mrs. Mary Ellen White Willis, age 66, of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Northern Hospital.  Mrs. Willis was born in Surry County on June 25, 1952, to Genie Madison and Bertha Callahan White.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and dear sister.  Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Judy Martin, and Brandon Martin and fiancée Christina Halvorsen; step sons, Kevin Willis and wife Shelby, Wade Willis and wife Mary Lynn, and Stephen Willis; step grandchildren, John Willis, Megan Willis, Martha Cole, Amy Willis, Olivia Willis, and Adam Willis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Worth Williams, Juanita Puckett, Jean and Don Badgett, Bonnie and Victor Lindquist, and Linda and A. C. Shores; brothers and sister-in-law, Tom and Karen White, and Alton White; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, Clyne Willis; a sister, Neldia Hiatt and brothers, Elwood White, Roger White and Ivan White.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Terry Vaughn.  Burial will follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
