Mary Sue Young Embry
Mrs. Mary Sue Young Embry, age 73, of Cana, passed away on Thursday Morning, May 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith. She was born on April 7, 1951 in Patrick County to the late Ray and Opal Thomas Young. Mrs. Embry loved her family, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nana who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years, Billy Embry; daughter, Angie Embry (Kathy); grandchildren, Abigail Embry (Nick), Ali Embry, and Adam Treppish; sisters, Phyllis Dellinger (Gordon), Laura Hinkley (Rodney); daughter-in-law, Misty Embry and her fur baby, Fisher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Embry was preceded in death by a son, William David Embry; grandson, Ryan Treppish; brother, Thomas Young. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at New Charity Baptist Church Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Ramsey Embry. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the church. Friends and family will gather at the home following the service.
