Mary Helen Haunn

Miss Mary Helen Haunn, 79, of Mt. Airy, passed away at her home, Wednesday, April 14, 2021.  She was born on April 23, 1941, in Carroll County to the late Hillary Hampton and Ada Marshall Haunn. Miss Haunn was a soft-spoken woman, with a kind heart. She loved her family and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.  She will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Kay Hodges (Kenny), Cathy Easter , Mildred Gillispie (Pete), Rogjeanna Haunn; her nephews Greg McCraw (Martha) and Basil Haunn (Jeanette); step nieces and nephews Ester Ayers (Rodney) and Jeannie Hiatt (Nelson); her special great nephew Jason Hutchins (Melody), and several other great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Lettie Jean Haunn, and her fur baby, Buddy. In addition to her parents, Miss Haunn, was preceded in death by a sister, Eliza McCraw, brothers Guy, Carlos, Columbus, and Roger Haunn, and an infant sister Hazel Haunn. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home, but a graveside service will be held at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Spurlin officiating on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm.  The family would like to give special thanks to Medi Home Health and Hospice, Debbie Walls, Cigi Perry, and Scotty Payne.
