Marylene Puckett Griffin

Mrs. Marylene Puckett Griffin, 66, of 319 Price Street, Mount Airy, wife of Donald Ray Griffin, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Griffin was born January 19, 1941 in Surry County to the late Claude Turner Puckett and Maudie Hall Puckett and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Donald Ray Griffin of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Maudie Elizabeth "Libby" and Manford Money of Mount Airy and Donna Lynn and Kenneth Lee Smith of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Scotty Lee Smith, Donna Marie Smith, Robert Eric Jones and Elizabeth Nicole Jones; great-grandchildren, Christian Alexander Smith, Kyra Brook Smith and Brooklyn Alyse Jones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian Watts of Mount Airy, Margaret Jones of Mount Airy, Frankie and James Clyde Lawson of Stuart, VA and Benny White of Mount Airy and sisters-in-law, Vernell Puckett of Mount Airy and Mary Alice Puckett of Cana, VA, Barbara and Mike Love of Ararat, NC and Magdalene and Osler Jenkins of Elkin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Watts, Euelala Puckett, Maxine White and Violet Naylor and brothers, Claude Lincoln Puckett, and Leo Turner Puckett. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Bill Tucker and Rev. Dale Hawks with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and at other times at the home of Libby Money 902 Hunter Park Drive, Mount Airy, NC.
