Matthew Combs

Mr. Matthew Ryan Combs, 27, of Cana, VA, passed away April 24, 2021.  He was born in Surry County, October 26, 1993 to Kevin Jay and Crystal Rippey Combs.  Matthew graduated from Carroll County High School and was employed with Just Motels.  He enjoyed football, soccer, and playing basketball.  Matthew loved his family and relished spending time with them.  In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his wife Cassandra Baker Combs; his stepson Parker; sisters, Makayla Combs and Madison Combs; nieces Rhylin, and Raegan; and nephew Deacon.  Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Lloyd J. “L.J.” and Johnnie Mae Hawks Rippey, and his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Nancy Brown Combs.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev.
