Mattie Virginia Hall Laws

Mattie Virginia Hall Laws, age 100, formerly of Dobson, died at Carolina Caring Hospice Home in Newton, NC.  She was born in Caldwell County North Carolina on June 19, 1921, to the late William Jennings Bryant Hall and the late Mattie Lula Bishop Hall.  She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Pershing Laws; two sons, Ralph Laws, Eugene Laws; three granddaughters; three grandsons.  Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Soderberg, Sue Childress; four sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Hilda Laws, Bruce Laws, Glen Laws, Jerry Laws; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Martin, Joylee Greer; brother, James “Junior” Hall; several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the cemetery of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Cana, VA.  Rev. David Sechrist will officiate the service.  The family will receive friends in the chapel of Oak Ridge Baptist Church 10:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022, until the time of her graveside service.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Laws Family.  There will be no formal services held at the funeral home.
