Mr. Max Ray Baker, Jr., 35, loving husband of Mrs. Kristy Moser Baker, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday March 16, 2009. He was born in Surry County on November 18, 1973 to Mr. Max Ray Baker, Sr. and Mrs. Vickie Baker Brown and was of the World Wide Church of God faith. He was a member of the Surry Central High School ROTC and was very dedicated to the Westfield community where he coached baseball for the Westfield Boosters Club Orioles and a former Volunteer Fireman for Pine Ridge Fire Department. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Kristy Moser Baker of the home; two daughters, Britnie Alexandrea, age 15, and Makayla Mae, and her twin brother Mackenzie, age 6,; four sons, Jeremy Austin, age 12, Tyler Lee, age 13, and Jesse Eugene, age 11,; his father, Max Ray Baker, Sr. of Lowgap and his mother Vickie Baker Brown of Mount Airy; a brother, Christopher Travis Baker also of Mount Airy; his father and mother-in-law, David and Deborah Moser. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremy Clay Baker; his maternal grandmother, Mae Doss "Granny Mae" Atkins; his paternal grandparents, Odell and Mary Jane Baker and his maternal great-grandparents, Marvin and Beulah Doss. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 pm at Temple Baptist Church by Rev. Zane Fishel with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm at Temple Baptist Church.Flowers wil be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Max Baker Funeral Fund, c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home PO Box 295 Dobson, NC 27017.
