Max Cook

Mr. Max Ravon Cook, 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home Wednesday, June 23, 2021.  He was born in Surry County, February 14, 1940, to the late Quincy Johnnie and Cora Lee Hiatt Cook.  Mr. Cook was a kind, gentle hearted man that loved his family and was a wonderful friend to many.  He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Luther Shelton; several nieces and nephews, and lots and lots of friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Hawks Cook; a brother Rex Cook, and his twin brother Leon Cook.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 28, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Shelton officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to his nieces, Sherry Brown and Shannon Dowell, along with the staff of the Woltz Hospice home for the excellent care given to Ravon during his illness.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
