Maybelline Lillian Haynes McMillian

Mrs. Maybelline Lillian Haynes McMillian, 81, of 7866 Wards Gap Road, Cana, VA, passed away Friday morning, December 18, 2009, at her home. Mrs. McMillian was born November 20, 1928, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Harvey and Rausie McMillian Haynes. She was a homemaker/farmer's wife and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. McMillian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed church, but, due to her health, had not been able to attend for sometime. She still enjoyed listening to gospel music. Surviving are her husband, Glenn McMillian of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gaye and Denny Nichols, Sr. of Hillsville, VA, Linda and Gary Haynes of Cana, VA, and Pamela and William Hartgrave of Kingsport, TN; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Glen Calvin McMillian and Donald and Cathy McMillian, all of Cana, VA; seven grandchildren, Denny Nichols, Jr., Steven Nichols, G.L. Haynes, Misty Easter, Glenn Donald McMillian, Chasity McMillian, and David Hartgrave; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Hiatt of Cana, VA; and two brothers, Clifford Haynes and Reaford Haynes, both of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann McMillian. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 21, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. David "Buster" Sechrist and the Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
