Maynard Easter

Mr. Maynard Lee Easter, 88 of Mount Airy passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by his family.  Maynard was born on May 27, 1932 in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Roscoe and Hettie Norman Easter.  Maynard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Maynard retired from the City of Mount Airy Public Works Department after many faithful years of service.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 71 years, Tina Smith Easter; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie Easter Conley and husband Marion “Chicken”, Cindy Easter Bassett and husband Kim “ Bear”; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Easter and wife Rhonda; grandchildren and spouses, Melissa Cline and husband Jody, Corey Easter and wife Jennifer, Elijah Leftwich and wife Rose, Billy Dean Strausser; great-grandchildren, Ryan Easter, Haddie Easter, Ian Leftwich, Dakota, Caleb and Leah; one brother, Ed Easter; one step-sister, Bonnie Lou Harshburger.  The family would like to thank Jamie Nunn, Rose McCraw, and Doris Hutson for their love and care for Mr. Easter during his illness.  In addition to his parent, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Susan Easter; one sister, Una Easter Morris.  No formal service will be held at this time.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030, or Hope Valley, PO Box 467, Dobson, North Carolina 27017, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
