McDaniel "Danny" Holder

Mr. McDaniel "Danny" Holder, 59, of 5870 West Pine Street, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Holder was born July 29, 1948, in Henrico County, VA, to Fern Martin Holder and the late Arnold McDaniel Holder. Danny was formerly employed by Siemens-Westinghouse and attended Roaring Gap Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Johnson Holder of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Johnson and Amanda Holder, all of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Samantha Childress, and Hailey Childress, all of Mount Airy; his mother, Fern Martin Holder of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Randy Collins of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Peggy Holder of New Bern. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Joe Atkins, and burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Moody funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
