Melanie Darlene Collins Rhoden

Ms. Melanie Darlene Collins Rhoden, 50, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at her home. She was born February 25, 1960, in Surry County, to Linda O'Neal Branch and the late Bernard Allen Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Baptist Church. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Linda O'Neal Branch and Steve "Pappy" Branch of Dobson; two brothers, Lee Allen Collins and his fiancée, Tammy Byrd, of Mount Airy and Gilmer Steven Branch, Jr. and his wife, Joannah Branch, of Dobson; four nieces, Ashlee M. Collins, Haley N. Collins, Kristin Collins, and Lauren Branch; a nephew, Gilmer Steven Branch, III; and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Central View Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Travis Chipman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Rhoden family.
