Melissa Mabe Holder

Mrs. Melissa Mabe Holder, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital. She is the wife of Joseph Holder. Melissa joins her father as part of the heavenly chorus in praising God for His goodness and grace. Melissa was born of February 23rd, 1972, to Frank and Celia Jones Mabe. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to those who knew her. Her life was a struggle to reach her goals of achieving the best that life had to offer. She dearly loved her family and took pride in her young granddaughter. Melissa is survived by her husband, Joey Holder, two daughters, Savannah (Justin Nunn), Maddison (Dillon Faulkner), a son David (Hannah Shelton), a granddaughter Sayler Faulkner, her mother Celia Mabe, a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Crystal Mabe, a sister and brother-in-law Tina and Jimmy McCraw, several nieces and nephews, and by her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Frances Holder. Melissa was preceded in death by her father Frank Mabe. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26th, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor and Megan Memorial Scholarship fund at North Surry High School or to the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Northern Hospital for their tender care of our wife and mother during her serious illness.
