Melissa Poindexter Key

Mrs. Melissa Poindexter Key, 41, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born January 1, 1969, in Surry County, to Wilbur and Lou Ray Mendenhall Poindexter. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a nurse at Forsyth Medical Center. Surviving are her husband, Harold D. Key of the home; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Flowers of the home; a stepson, Eric Dean Key and his wife, Ashley, of Pilot Mountain; her parents, Wilbur and Lou Ray Mendendall Poindexter of Siloam; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kristie and Michael Brame of Greensboro and Sherrie and Aaron Cox of Tucson, AZ; nephews, Gavin Brame and Cole Brame; and special friends, Ronnie and Brenda Poindexter of Lowgap, Tammy Addington of Dobson, and Ronnie and Carol Matthews of Elkin. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Brother Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her parents, 204 Poindexter Road, Siloam. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017, or to Liberty Baptist Church, c/o Lou Ray Poindexter, 204 Poindexter Road, Siloam, NC 27047. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday August 18, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Brother Don Collins will conduct the services. Her body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 Min. before the services.
